BOO to the weekend being over. (And a very subtle pun to the start of Hallow’s End, which I have now ruined by pointing it out. (I meant to revisit and post this Monday, but never got back to it (The gnome is lazy.)))

Timmy has a new toy. It is quite the improvement over his old toy. That’s right, through Naxx, Ulduar and several weeks of Trial25, Tim was still using the Titansteel Guardian.  He’d just never won anything else. On the times an upgrade had dropped, I usually either rolled low, or had already won something else and it was an auto pass.

Every Day a Little Death

Raiding on Sunday was … well.

I died 3 times on Northrend beasts. I don’t remember what killed me the first time, possibly Acidmaw. Battle rez … instagibbed. Battle rez again.. I made it most of the way through Icehowl before dying again to something.

I told them I brought my inner gnome. They were amused.

I died on the Twins to bad orb placement (meaning I placed myself badly in the path of the orbs). I thought I died on Anub too, but I guess not.

Wanna Trade?

Not much caster stuff dropped, and I don’t have near enough Triumph Badges to make getting a Trophy worthwhile, so I pass on those for the moment. But when Misery’s End dropped, I rolled hard and fast.

Top roll, no question, go me. Then had one of the priests whisper me, offering to trade the Trophy he’d won earlier for the mace. I’d just finished linking the Titansteel in Raid as my “thanks! this is what i’m upgrading from!”

The next whisper from the priest was “nevermind…”

I did get some ribbing (”Don’t you CHECK the gear on people before you let them in here?”) but it was all in fun.

So Many Choices

Timov has a LOT of gear upgrades that would be useful for him. I know the T9 set is pretty good, but I just don’t have time to farm the Heroic Daily for Badges. So, at the moment, I’m concentrating on the “Little upgrades”, the trinkets and rings that are actually pretty good boosts, but don’t take as many badges, because I feel they will give me a better boost in the short term.

That’s why I haven’t been rolling on Trophy of the Crusade, either. I don’t have the badges to spend on it, and it will just sit in the bank gathering dust for months. I’d rather it go to someone who can use it in more of the short term.

Once I save up enough badges to use one, I’d definitely roll. But until then, it feels too much like hoarding.

So, discussion topic: What are you spending your badges on first?

I would like to, but unfortunately, the Kraken seems to have slipped into stealth mode.

Either that or I forgot to shower again and he’s avoiding me.

It seems that if I’m at the blue boat, he’s at the red, or vice versa.

My friend Illianas suggested the other day “Bombing runs need a return to base” button.

I would suggest that they also need a “the kraken is at the other $&#)ing boat” button.

Would that be hard Blizz?

No, seriously. I’ve deleted like 40 spam comments in the past few days.

Which is admittedly probably far less than some of the bigger sites get.

So, I raided pretty seriously this weekend. Cali did Ony 25 friday night, and Ony 10 & TOTC10 on Saturday.

Timov did his first Ony25 and TOTC25 on Sunday, and brought home the Cord of Pale Thorns, which is one of the BIS belts before heroic mode.

The guild attempted Heroic TOTC on Friday but we just couldn’t get the first guy down in time. On the 10 man run on Sat, we got Heroic Beasts down, but Jaraxxas was routinely kicking our butts.

Anyway, it was fun.

Timov almost has enough Triumph badges for that lovely Rejuve idol. Caliban has 75 badges, I need to figure out what to spend them on. I’m not sure if I want to wait for a Trophy or just spend them on more numerous, but lesser quality upgrades. We’ll see.

Edit: I healed Culling of Strat! I really haven’t healed many of the instances, heroic or not on Tim. I was able to cobble together a pretty decent set of crafted gear, and kind of got sucked right into Naxx.

I was a little worried about the gauntlet, but it went okay. The tank wasn’t pulling it as fast as I was used to. He could have gone a little faster and I would have been okay, but we still beat the time limit.

For the moment, the only instance I refuse to heal is 5 man TOC. I just couldn’t get the hang of healing through the Confessor. (It took another healer and a half helping me. Eadric and everything else, I’m fine.)  I’ll go back once I get some better gear & more experience, but for the moment, I’m not going to submit a group to that.

In the meanwhile, I’m just going to work on getting more Triumph Badges and working on my Rejuv + Wild Growth group healing.

Also, healed VoA for the first time tonight. It was a little messy over all, but we one shot the flame guy and Emalon. No druid loot *sad tree*. But I got enough badges for the Idol. It procs a LOT.

Anywho, that was a longer edit than intended.

I’m off to bed.

I don’t want it to be Monday already.
