Chuck in a Bucket!

Posted by Caliban on 24 Sep 2009 | Tagged as: WoW

Wow … I’m glad I logged on to to dailies today.

After surviving my night class and not falling asleep, I came home, dinked around and did dailies. I was getting ready to log out in IF for the Brewfest dailies tomorrow, when I thought “ah heck, I haven’t checked the Shatt Fishing Daily in a while. Lets just take a look.”

It was Crocks in the City, which it hasn’t been, so I snagged it, threw on my fishin hat, and went to Stormwind.

When I opened the quest reward bag, I did a double take. There was a bucket…

Could it be …? It WAS!

Chuck was the last of the four croc pets I needed. I haven’t been doing the quest as frequently as I used to, but it’s been since at least last year that I got one of them.

I was so happy! And I have the complete set now! I need to try to get Mr. Pinchy at some point, and then the rat. But we’ll see.

Welcome to the family, Chuck. Don’t eat the furniture. Or the gnome.

Aw, poo…

Old Onyxia was one of the old-world raid achievements I just hadn’t gotten around to yet. (Ruins of An’Quiraj being the other.)

Unfortunately, I wasn’t aware of the patch coming out, and have now missed the opportunity to get it on Caliban.

C’est la vie. I suppose I shall go on … somehow…

Brewfesht…hic!

Brewfest is here, and with it the end of the first year’s cycle of World Events. Lots of folks are getting their Violet Proto-drakes.

I will not be among them.

I’m nearly done with the Brewfest achievments, I just need to kill Coren Direbrew and get 300 tokens so I can dance whilst drunk and get that one. I will be selling the articles of clothing back so I can get the pet. And may go for the Brew of the Month club again.

I’ve got the Kodo from last year (mines real, not just from hops, bitches!) and the Pony Keg and the goggles.  I may keep one article of clothing so I don’t have to do THAT grind again for whatever they add next year.

I Love You, You Love Me, Unless you’re Flagged for PVP …

School of Hard Knocks from Children’s week is the one achivement I’m missing. I wrote about that a little bit here. I was stressed with the end of school, and having to deal with 4 separate PVP achievements was just not stress I wanted to add.

They haven’t removed it from the overall achievement, so I’ll make a point of getting it done this coming year, but … yeah. Still not looking forward to it.

Raiding etc

I didn’t raid at all this week. I missing hanging out with folks, but … not really missing the raiding.

I need to work on Loremaster (Just have Kalimdor left) before Cataclysm hits…

That’s it for now. They’re trying to make me work.

(Bastards…)

Imma Hero!

As you can see from the sidebar (until they get replaced by others) I done gots me some achievements today, boy howdy.

Yes, however many months it has been after I hit 80, having done Naxx, Ulduar and most of Trial of the Crusader, finally got Northrend Dungeon Hero. Apparently, in all that time, I had never done Old Kingdom or Halls of Stone.

Oops.

I had done Old Kingdom earlier during the week, and since Halls of Stone was the daily today, I did that with a couple friends from guild. Got one achievement, but missed two others, and since the tank took the JC recipe, I will be going back, at some point.

Raiding

I’m not really “in” to raiding at the moment, but I was present for our guilds first ToC:Anubarack kill a week or so ago.

Aaaand since the pic is on the other computer, it will get uploaded later.

What’s In A Name

I was going to link it, but I can’t find the article now.

Earlier, CNN had a link on their front page to an article entitled “Don’t Call it Swine Flu!” or something similar, a plea from the CDC to use the H1N1 moniker. CNN also, and at the same time, had 2-to-3 other stories on their front page … with “swine flu” clearly in the title.

I found it amusing, at least. ;-]

I led a raid.6minutes

Yes, you read that correctly.

On Wednesday, one of our guild members put up signups for a Naxx10 run for “fun and badgers”, as we are wont to call them.

It was kind of late notice, but about 5 of us signed up, showed up, and waited … and waited …  for the guy who’d started it to sign on. Those of us online expressed interest in continuing regardless, so I started tossing out invites, just to get things going.

And ended up being the one to recruit 3 pugs, appoint myself loot master, and since no one else stepped up, to lead the damn thing.

Razuvious gave us the most trouble, and I made note that next time we go in (if there is a next time) I want to learn the MC crystals. I’m reasonably certain the reason we wiped there 5 times was NOT the guy from our guild, but the 900dps pug mage.

Other than that, I think we only wiped once on 4 Horsemen, I thought we were going to wipe on Anub (to the point I released) but they got him down and surprised the hell out of me.

We got 3 wings clear, and might have made headway on 4 if we hadn’t spent so much time on Raz. All in all, it was a good run. We even got the achievement on Patch. (Probably thanks to several Uldura/TOC geared folks in the raid…)

Not an experienc I necessarily want to repeat without warning anytime soon, but it was fun.
